Throughout my life, I worked primarily with individuals who had led remarkable lives. It was clear to me that the happiest individuals were those who embraced their current 'stage of life' with positivity and sincerity towards themselves and others. They weren't defined by who they had been. Instead, they were enjoying their todays with gusto and purpose. I want to be like them.
It's easy to say, but so hard to do.
Achieving happiness and positivity in my new 'stage of life' requires a deliberate effort at tearing down those ingrained beliefs that continue to hinder the journey I want to take. That's what this blog is all about.
So, what's the action plan now that I've retired from my 40-year career?
I am giving myself permission to get curious about what is truly in my heart and naturally explore these newly revealed paths.
And now I have time. For the first time since I was a kid, I have all the time in the world.
By saying this, I'm hearing: "Danger, danger Will Rogers!" (If you know, you know!)
Let's just say the universe offers numerous ways to fill in those hours/days.
I see how easy it would be to just plug into what I'm expected to do. (More about that in future posts) but for now I have to put my foot down and stay true to what I know I have to do.
It may seem cliché, but I must find myself. For some reason, at some point, I became a chameleon. Driven by my desire to satisfy others in both personal and work relationships, I ended up losing the authenticity of simply being Lisa.

Since I always look at everything with a sense of humor, I hope this will be a fun journey.
I'll be posting all sorts of stories about the hurdles I encounter as I roll around in unknown territory. At least I'm moving!
So, help me and others by sharing your journeys. Let's inspire each other to embrace our next steps with confidence, pride and most of all, fun.
